Hellrager

HELLRAGER is a three/four-piece rock band formed in 2019 from Cornwall,ON. Sounds like Motorhead, Nirvana and Pantera.

When asked what does HELLRAGER sound like? The band's bassist and singer Boom had this to say. "It's kind of like if GG Allen gave Motorhead a Cleveland steamer while the Ramones jerk off Pantera in the corner".

This Canadian power trio / quartet draws its inspiration from the sounds and attitude of the 70s, '80s and '90s hardcore, rock, punk and grunge scenes while paying homage to the legends of their youth such as Kurt Cobain, Lemmy Kilmister and Iggy Pop.

HELLRAGER's full fledged attack is kept on pace by the Jurassic war drums of the band's drummer "Heavy" or in his own words " it's like that Blue oyster shit met that Afghan Kush and they had a baby. Meanwhile that crazy northern lights stuff and the super red espresso snowflake met and had a baby and those two babies met and fucked".

Beard sums up his guitar work in HELLRAGER to "When Mario eats the star" but for those who have no idea what he's talking about we'll just say his style fluidly combines classic guitar icons like Jimi Hendrix, Joe Walsh and Eric Clapton with the bite down on your mouthpiece pride fight of metal crushers like Dimebag Darrell, Kirk Hammett and Zakk Wylde.

If you were to ask "Boom" what do the band's vocals sound like don't expect a very serious answer as the guys in HELLRAGER do not seem remotely interested in talking comparisons or genres but "Boom" does go on to say we have three very capable singers in this band which adds a lot of depth in that department which I feel is pretty rad!".

HellRager's newest member on guitar (added 2023) is Vicious Vinny aka Sin Bin Vin.
Vinny has been grinding the scene for years and much like Beard is highly respected and widely regarded as one of the best players and performers in the province.
Vinny is the most "niche" player in HellRager being truly dialed into the nostalgia of the 70s rock style. Vinny's licks and flare are a blast from the past, you will get stoned just listening to this dude play guitar. 

 Lyrically and sonically HELLRAGER's music has a lot to do with getting something off your chest just a flat out release as the band's guitarist "Beard" explains " It's not like we're insane we don't just walk around pissed off at the world looking to punch someone out... "Well actually maybe "Boom" is a bit like that" he said jokingly. Without attempting to reinvent the wheel HELLRAGER's approach to their music is very refreshing. In a world of inauthenticity HELLRAGER is a throwback to when shit was real."You definitely won't need a thesaurus to figure out what we're talking about" said drummer/ vocalist "Heavy" . "Boom" ads "we're down with poetry and all that but there's a time and place for it and this is not it".
